"Giving my self permission to live in high self-truth and high faith!"
That's the season I'm in, and it's something about the discovery and learning process that has me so curious about what's next. I'm a firm believer in being sent signs by way of repetitive occurrences, visions or what feels like de'ja vu but lately these signs have continued to show up in the form of two simple words.
Boundaries and Forgiveness.
"TUH!" Yeah, that was my first reaction too when I realized that this recurring dynamic duo were trying to get my attention. Although subtle, the guidance couldn't have been more direct.
So here I am, trying to embrace this new high self-truth and matched faith-living and am also challenged with the need say hello to boundaries and greetings to forgiveness. What's really going on?
Now, one of my favorite things to do is read; actually collecting books, if I am honest. I either borrow, purchase or download 2-3 books per week and read several at a time, finish one then on to the next, rinse and repeat. While I am on a journey to heal a few things in my life, I am not exactly picking up books with the title or preface based on anything close to boundaries or forgiveness (so I thought).
For example, the current book that I'm reading, "Permission To Offend"... I gravitated to initially because of the hot pink cover and sassy sister standing in a flattering, yet confident power pose. Secondly, because I was hoping to read about how to embody this "Permission To Offend" as a way to live without a care in the world...(or maybe get the permission to tell off a few.... I digress) but as I kept reading, 138 pages in to be exact, I see Boundaries and Forgiveness all in it.
So, I pause...
Take a deep breath and acknowledge that these are two areas of my life that need some extra care and consideration.
I do believe that the dynamic duo may actually allow me to free up some mental and emotional space to truly show up in that highest truth and faith that I seek so dearly. My assumption is that once I get better acquainted with the two, I won't be so burdened with being overbooked, tired and bitter.
Yeah, I said it... bitter.
I've been running from that word for some time now but if I am honest, life sometimes leaves you with such a sour taste in your mouth you can't do anything other than to stand there in more of the bitter than the sweet. Yes, there is a time and place for that but my goal is to move through this on to the next level. See, yet another sign that boundaries and forgiveness are trying to be all in my business.
So, now that I'm attuned to my intuition and seeing the signs, guess what book I randomly picked up today?
"The Well-Watered Woman"
... Oh my am I excited for what will be revealed as I go through the pages. I will say what spoke to me this evening is;
Being well-watered means so many things, some simple, others more complex but to embody a state of being watered well, every area must receive it's proper nutrients at the proper time. Some need daily attention, others weekly but nevertheless it's important to water each area of life based on it's significance, demand, and often dehydration (it's a sad situation once we get to the dehydration level).
Now, if that's what I heard speaking to my heart as I read just the title of the book, what more will I gain as I read the author's message and intent? Hmmm, I am open and ready to receive. As I pour myself a tall glass of ice water from the fridge (I'm starting this watering process tonight lol), I encourage you to open your eyes to the signs and wonders in everyday life as well. These nudges are there to prompt us to take heed and help us along the way. Look alive, my friend.
John 4:48
"Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”
