Levels...For Better & Better

"Shake off the dust"... a slogan that we often hear and use but what does that truly mean?

Depending on your current journey it can imply a variety of things. Shaking off the dust (or residue) from a failed attempt, broken heart or shaking off the dust (or glitter) from your prior accolades or accomplishments as a means to propel you into the energy and excitement needed to pursue your next dream. I look at this as an ever-evolving refinement that occurs throughout life. Being in a constant state of improvement, cultivating an internal elegance, polishing and purifying which ultimately is the inescapable way towards growth. It can be beautiful, often a beautiful chaos but beautiful, nonetheless. Each new stage in our life requires a new level of refinement; purging what is no longer useful and preparing for new positions, posture and aspirations. At each stage something exciting happens, a renewed sense of self is born. We have this constant opportunity to release, improve and develop. We should become comfortable with the fact that there is always a next level. There can be levels that mandate hardship, discipline, grief or a level that calls for shine, success, joy and abundance... (we tend to prefer these levels best) but no matter what the level requires of you, one thing remains true: there is a refinement that lives within it. A spiritual refinement, financial, physical, emotional, relational or mental precision which refocuses us. It is however our choice to embrace this. If we choose to develop this inner peace, acknowledge and embrace this never ending growth opportunity, we will find that through our surrender to it...we move through these levels with an anticipation for what awaits us at the beginning and end of another level. With an innate knowing that every outcome was the needed one. How different would life be for us if we had more compassion and a graceful attitude towards ourselves when a new wave of refinement is on the horizon? Can you see the freedom in shaking off the dust of bad habits, poor choices, careers that no longer make sense, changing traditions, welcoming new outlooks and ultimately just becoming more of WHO; deep down you truly know that you desire to be, who you truly are.. with no remnants of counterfeits. The levels are solely in place to ensure that you get there. Don't be distracted by the noise within the level, simply trust yourself with yourself! This process is needed for your well-being and to flourish in life... after all, the opposite of growing is shrinking and withering away... and that's NOT what we're doing!
