Hey Family-
I hope that you are enjoying the cool weather this evening! It's about 52 degrees here in Chicago, burrrr!
As I'm wrapping up my work-day, a few things came to mind...
How can I get through my critical tasks* before I shut down my laptop for the day? LOL
What even pushed me in the direction of seriously pursuing my passion(s) in the first place?
My critical tasks consisted of items ranging from the simple, "Drink 5 bottles of water today" to the more thought provoking, "Create new content". At 5:19pm, I am only 60% done with today's list. To be quite honest, I spent most of the day fielding work communication while socializing via text. You guess which one took up the most of my time and attention ;)
So if I managed to get 60% of my tasks done in a short couple of hours, what would it look like if I reprioritized, making my critical tasks truly critical and integrated in the beginning of the day? Hmmm. I believe that I could probably allow myself additional time as the day progressed to capitalize on the progress and too be a few steps ahead for the next day. Have you ever been here? That perfect hindsight-vision, again.... right?
Which brings me to the next question, which actually has a two part answer. What pushed me in the direction of seriously pursuing my passion TODAY and tackling the agenda that I SET was driven by this: I didn't want to let myself down and as a girlfriend of my says about my inner motivation; "I didn't want to lose" lol Both of which are very accurate and speak volumes about my WHY's! These are the same things that pushed me to take my passions seriously coupled with the fact that I no longer wanted to waste time.
I had a bad experience during the childbirth of my 2nd daughter back in September 2019 that ultimately pushed me into a severe level of anxiety about the unknown and life/death (read about it here: https://www.candacegreen.net/post/on-glasses-what-s-your-frame-style *excuse the incorrect blog handle). I began to wonder what my legacy would be and how fulfilled would I be if I "left" without even attempting the dreams and pursuits that had been in my heart for years, some even for a lifetime. This drive was sustained with the innate need to set a great example for my babies, make myself proud and WIN at my life! WIN for my purposes and definition are to go for it ALL; think, plan, perform and put my efforts toward a goal, especially the goals that seemed impossible. Then, MAKE IT HAPPEN!
That's true WINNING!!
What is it for you? What would winning YOUR life look like? What do you need to fuel you forward into a life that you've already envisioned but may be too afraid to go after? Let's not wait until we face the worst in life before we WAKE UP and take action. How would it feel to take each moment for what it is, a blessing and a table set for us to sit at and take part in. If you needed to hear this, I'll tell you: "There IS room for you!"
How do you get started, you ask? My best advice is to pick one task or idea that you have on your "MY DREAM LIFE" shelf and dust it off! Write the plan, work toward it every day and make it a reality. When your buddy FEAR sets in, just tell it "I hear you fear, but I'm doing this anyway"... then proceed.
As Andy Frisella would say, "the time is going to pass anyways, you may as do something with it"!
Honey, what are you going to do with yours?
I promise you, That DREAM LIFE CAN BE YOURS!! Go after it!
Always with light and abundance!
Candace
